About the Role
Federal University Lafia is seeking a dedicated and qualified academic professional to join our esteemed faculty as a Lecturer II in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and advancing impactful research in Nigeria. As a member of our Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional academic instruction, mentoring the next generation of pharmacists, and contributing to the dynamic growth of our health sciences programmes in a vibrant campus environment located in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice.
- Conduct high-quality, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and academic field placements.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and university-wide committee assignments.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students to support their professional and personal growth.
- Engage in community service and institutional outreach programmes that promote healthcare awareness and professional standards.
- Must possess a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice, or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree plus a minimum of two (2) peer-reviewed journal publications and at least three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level will be considered.
- Demonstrated evidence of active research interests and academic publishing in reputable journals.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills tailored for a university teaching environment.
- Registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) and current practicing license where applicable.
