The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university founded in 1970, invites applications from suitably qualified and passionate academics for the position of Lecturer I within the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Petroleum Engineering and related courses.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, and research work.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and contribute to the advancement of petroleum engineering knowledge.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and university committee assignments.
- Mentor students and provide academic guidance to support their professional development.
- Engage in community service and industry partnerships that enhance the profile of the department and the university.
- A First Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline with a minimum of a Second Class Upper Division.
- Candidates with a Second Class Lower Division must possess a relevant PhD to be eligible.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- A minimum of three (3) credible peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students effectively.
