Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Microbiology.
  • Design, update, and develop academic curricula in alignment with NUC guidelines and industry standards.
  • Conduct high-quality research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and actively seek grant funding.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
  • Provide academic advising, mentoring, and career guidance to students to foster holistic development.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
  • Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives on behalf of the university.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a PhD in Microbiology or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Demonstrated track record of teaching excellence at the tertiary education level.
  • A robust portfolio of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
