About the Role
Unique Care and Support Foundation (CASFOD) is a prominent national non-governmental organization dedicated to championing children's and women's rights through the Humanitarian, Development and Peace (HDP) nexus. We envision a world where individuals in even the most remote areas possess the power to create lasting opportunities for themselves and their communities. We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Education Assistant to join our dedicated team in Damboa, Borno State, to drive impactful educational initiatives for out-of-school children and vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities- Implement delegated reaching-out-of-school projects in alignment with donor requirements, proposals, and high technical quality standards.
- Contribute actively to baseline, midline, endline, and needs assessments to shape project direction.
- Supervise, manage, and facilitate training programs for teachers, volunteer educators, PTAs, and SBMCs.
- Support youth and adolescent programming, focusing on life skills, basic literacy and numeracy, and alternative/accelerated education.
- Foster strong, positive relationships with community leaders, the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), and state stakeholders to ensure project buy-in and adherence to Do No Harm principles.
- Ensure accurate project documentation, monitoring data collection, and regular reporting on output indicators.
- Facilitate the recruitment of volunteer teachers and learning facilitators within target communities.
- Coordinate learning and reflection sessions, documenting case studies, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Education or a related field.
- At least 2 years of proven working experience in humanitarian or development program implementation.
- Demonstrated experience working on Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) and Accelerated Basic Education Programme (ABEP) for Out-of-School Children (OOSC).
- Strong computer literacy, excellent documentation skills, and proficiency in project planning.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) alongside strong proficiency in local languages such as Hausa or Fulfulde.
- High cultural awareness and the willingness to travel and work in remote field bases under strenuous conditions.
