We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced, and research-driven professional to fill the position of Lecturer I in Medical Microbiology within our esteemed Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality instruction, conducting cutting-edge research, and mentoring students to achieve their highest academic and professional potential.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Medical Microbiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic field activities.
- Design, update, and continuously improve curriculum content to meet current industry and NUC standards.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and contribute regularly to reputable academic journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university committees, administrative tasks, and community service initiatives.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Must possess a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology or a directly relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- A minimum of three (3) years of cognate university teaching and research experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing academic research and relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven competence in effective university teaching, student supervision, and curriculum delivery.
- Current professional registration and a valid practicing license with relevant regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in ICT-enabled teaching tools and strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
