About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Linguistics and African Languages.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, essays, and theses.
  • Conduct high-impact research and publish peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international journals.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
  • Mentor students and provide academic counseling to support their professional and personal development.
Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. or Master's degree in Linguistics, African Languages, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of active teaching and research experience at the tertiary level.
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed journal publications.
  • A First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a Ph.D.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
