The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Lecturer I to join our Department of Social Sciences within the Faculty. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate practical learning in Library and Information Science courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and university committee assignments.
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, and career guidance to students.
- Contribute to departmental community engagement and institutional accreditation processes.
- Must possess a PhD or a Master's degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Possession of a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division; or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Demonstrated ability to use modern educational technology and digital library management systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
