About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and suitably qualified academic professional to fill the position of Lecturer I within the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of healthcare professionals by delivering exceptional instruction, conducting impactful research, and mentoring students at our state-of-the-art Medical Campus in Abuja.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Medical Microbiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and update course curricula in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern pedagogical trends.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic field activities.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community service initiatives.
- Possession of an MBBS or BDS degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- A relevant postgraduate academic or professional qualification appropriate for a Lecturer I position.
- Demonstrated teaching, research, clinical, and scholarly experience commensurate with the rank.
- Evidence of strong academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body alongside a valid, up-to-date practising licence.
- Proven capacity for effective teaching, academic research, student mentorship, and institutional service.
- All submitted academic and professional credentials must be fully verifiable.
