Greenland University, Jalingo, the premier private university in Taraba State operating under the motto Knowledge for Self-Reliance, is seeking a dedicated and accomplished academic to join our Faculty of Science and Computing. We are looking for a visionary Lecturer I in Data Science to shape the next generation of tech professionals through innovative teaching, curriculum development, and impactful research.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Data Science and related computing courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic theses at various levels.
- Conduct high-impact research, publish peer-reviewed papers in reputable journals, and actively contribute to the university academic profile.
- Participate in curriculum review, departmental meetings, faculty committees, and university-wide academic events.
- Mentor students and provide academic advising to foster holistic personal and professional development.
- Engage in community service initiatives and establish industry partnerships that align with the university vision.
- PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of academic experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent rank in a tertiary institution.
- A strong publication record of at least 25 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets, including a minimum of 5 publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Demonstrated ICT proficiency with competence in modern data science tools, programming languages, and learning management systems.
- Active membership in relevant professional bodies and associations.
- Possession of a mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
