About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university in Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer I in Chemical Pathology to join the academic staff within the esteemed School of Medicine. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of medical professionals through rigorous teaching, groundbreaking research, and dedicated mentorship within our advanced medical facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in Chemical Pathology to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical training sessions.
- Conduct high-quality, impactful research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals to contribute to the academic standing of the department.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and university committee work.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students navigating their medical education journey.
- Must hold a First Degree with a classification not below Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Chemical Pathology or a closely related medical discipline.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- A proven track record of a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed publications in recognized academic journals.
