About the Role

Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL) is seeking a strategic and analytical Lead Technical Planner to join our Portfolio Management department in Nigeria. Operating the flagship OML 30 asset in the Niger Delta, we focus on exploring underappreciated basins to create sustainable value for all stakeholders. In this critical role, you will lead the annual planning cycle, integrate commercial, financial, and technical inputs, and generate data-driven insights to support high-quality business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual work program and budget activities by coordinating cross-functional teams, executing key business initiatives, and providing vital commercial input.
  • Support integrated short, medium, and long-term production forecasting by translating technical profiles into accurate revenue, cost, and cash flow projections.
  • Perform financial and economic evaluations for reserves and resource bookings, integrating metrics like NPV, IRR, and payback into technical reports.
  • Analyze reservoir performance variances against budgets, delivering actionable insights to support reforecasting and strategic mid-term plan adjustments.
  • Identify and evaluate high-value growth opportunities, market trends, and capital projects to ensure sound, data-driven investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, proudly representing HEOSL in external meetings with Joint Venture partners.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators while mentoring less experienced team members in industry best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Economics, Energy Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA, Master's in Finance, or specialized Energy Economics degrees are highly advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, ACCA, or ICAN combined with relevant upstream oil and gas experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the oil and gas sector, focusing on business planning and production forecasting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau alongside exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of exploration and production (E&P) disciplines and strong business acumen.
