About the Role
Coronation Merchant Bank is a leading emerging merchant banking franchise in Nigeria committed to innovation, teamwork, and integrity. We are currently seeking an experienced and driven professional to take on the role of Lead, Tax and Expense Management. In this vital position, you will head the bank's tax compliance and cost control operations, ensuring financial accuracy, strict regulatory adherence, and optimal value for money across all business units.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the bank's comprehensive tax obligations including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and CIT, ensuring timely and accurate filings and remittances.
- Oversee robust expense management processes, encompassing budget tracking, accrual accounting, and proactive cost control initiatives.
- Perform regular reconciliations of tax and expense accounts to swiftly identify and resolve operational variances.
- Act as the primary liaison supporting internal and external audits as well as direct engagements with relevant tax authorities.
- Monitor evolving changes in Nigerian tax laws and regulations, providing strategic advisory on their direct impact on the bank.
- Prepare comprehensive periodic reports and financial insights for senior management and executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related numerate field.
- Relevant professional accounting or tax qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, CITN, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated professional experience in corporate tax and expense management, preferably within the Nigerian financial services sector.
- Comprehensive and up-to-date working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards.
