About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital platform in Nigeria that provides instant loans through our Android app, empowering millions with seamless financial access. We are looking for an exceptional Lead Risk Manager & Portfolio Owner to take charge of our high-volume Android Quick Loans portfolio. In this high-impact, mini-CEO role, you will have total ownership of commercial, economic, risk, and people outcomes for the portfolio, driving growth and profitability in a dynamic market.
Key Responsibilities- Own Android revenue, sustainable Gross Loan Book growth, risk-adjusted Gross Profit, economic profit, and credit-risk performance.
- Build and execute the annual Android business plan, strategic roadmap, and monthly portfolio forecasts.
- Continuously optimize end-to-end credit strategies across New-to-Bank origination, returning customers, top-ups, and high-risk segments.
- Formalize and operationalize Android affordability using bank statements, transaction behaviors, and repayment history.
- Design controlled A/B and multivariate tests, translating strategy into decision-engine rules and production changes.
- Build and lead a high-performing senior Android credit-strategy team while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Compliance.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in consumer credit risk, credit strategy, or lending portfolio management.
- Proven ownership of a material lending portfolio, including revenue, GLB, risk, and profitability metrics.
- Deep understanding of digital unsecured lending, with Nigerian or broader African market experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced expertise in PD, LGD, EAD, vintages, roll rates, IFRS 9/ECL, pricing, and affordability frameworks.
- Strong technical capabilities in SQL alongside proficiency in Python or equivalent analytical tooling.
- Exceptional executive communication skills and a track record of building and mentoring high-caliber teams.
