About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja, a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a Lead Physiologist (Cardiology). In this pivotal role, you will provide expert clinical leadership and strategic oversight for non-invasive cardiac diagnostics, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-centred care across Nigeria and the wider African continent.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical leadership and strategic direction for the Cardiac Physiology department.
- Perform, analyze, and approve complex physiological tests, including stress echocardiography and rhythm analysis.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior cardiac physiologists, technicians, and nursing teams.
- Ensure strict compliance with national and international quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Drive innovation, research, and the adoption of advanced cardiac imaging techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Physiology, Clinical Physiology, or a related biomedical science field.
- Mandatory postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Cardiac Physiology.
- Valid clinical physiology license or registration with a recognized professional regulatory body.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a cardiac physiologist, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Essential certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
