About the Role

Airtel Africa, a leading global telecommunications provider, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead, Partnerships for our Smartcash Payment Service Bank (PSB) in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our business development strategy, forge high-value strategic partnerships, and drive superior commercial results by expanding our market presence across corporate, banking, and government sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish business development strategies to drive Smartcash PSB revenues, transaction shares, and customer acquisition across C2B and B2C segments.
  • Manage end-to-end partnership lifecycles, from initial prospecting and RFP responses to complex negotiations and contract execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, finance, and technical departments to launch and scale innovative enterprise solutions.
  • Identify, acquire, and manage strategic vendors, platform providers, and outsourced channel partners with clear KPIs and incentive models.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of business development professionals while ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Sales, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant corporate sales and business development experience within the financial services sector, with prior mobile money experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful enterprise pitching, responding to RFPs, and managing large sales pipelines.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of the Nigerian fintech and telecommunications market landscape.
