About the Role
Ramos Electric Power Limited is a leading power generation company in Nigeria with strategic interests in coal-to-power solutions, electrical products, and industrial automation. We are seeking an accomplished Lead Mechanical / Thermal Engineer to serve as our technical authority for the steam cycle, CFB boilers, turbine-generators, and balance of plant from FEED through EPC award and financial close.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical and thermal FEED, establishing plant configurations, design bases, and comprehensive heat and mass balances.
- Build and maintain plant performance models, optimizing heat rate and output across diverse lignite quality ranges.
- Specify critical infrastructure including CFB boilers, steam turbines, condensers, wet mechanical-draught cooling towers, and ash handling systems.
- Collaborate with hydrogeologists to manage comprehensive water systems, covering borefields, reservoirs, and treatment facilities.
- Draft mechanical sections of EPC Employer's Requirements, direct technical bid evaluations, and define strict performance guarantees.
- Coordinate vital cross-functional interfaces with mining, civil, electrical, and environmental engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years of thermal power experience, with at least 5 years focused on design, FEED, or Owner's Engineering for 100 MW+ solid-fuel plants.
- Proficiency in heat-balance software such as Thermoflex or EBSILON and strong working knowledge of ASME codes.
- COREN registration or eligibility to secure registration within three months of employment.
- Demonstrated expertise working with CFB boilers, high-moisture fuels, and international EPC contractors.
