About the Role

Independent Project Monitoring Company Limited (IPMC) is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Electrical Assurance Consultant to join our growing team of professional consultants in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will provide expert technical oversight and project assurance across complex oil and gas, infrastructure, and industrial developments, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As the Lead Electrical Assurance Consultant, you will spearhead technical audits and monitor electrical engineering scopes throughout the project lifecycle. Your key focus areas will include:

  • Providing assurance on HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, substations, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Overseeing Motor Control Centres (MCCs), power distribution systems, and protection and control setups.
  • Evaluating cable installation, termination, testing procedures, and earthing and lightning protection measures.
  • Ensuring robust electrical testing and commissioning assurance across all assigned assets.
  • Leading multidisciplinary technical teams, managing stakeholder relations, and driving rigorous contractor progress and quality verification.

Qualifications

To be successful in this leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience, with a strong background in a lead or supervisory capacity within the oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, power, or major infrastructure sectors.
  • Active professional registration or chartered status such as COREN, CEng, PE, or equivalent recognized bodies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in EPC/EPCM, Owner's Engineer, Third-Party Inspection, or Project Assurance environments.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills with uncompromised professional integrity.
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site in Nigeria for the duration of the assignment.
