About the Role
Independent Project Monitoring Company Limited (IPMC) is a premier firm of professional consultants specializing in the oil and gas, infrastructure, and building sectors. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Electrical Assurance Consultant to join our senior project leadership team in Nigeria. In this critical team-leading role, you will take personal responsibility for the independent verification, assurance, and certification of electrical systems installed by contractors, while directing and mentoring a dedicated team of electrical assurance associates and consulting engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, organize, and supervise the electrical assurance team, allocating engineers across contractor packages to match site progress.
- Review contractor electrical engineering deliverables and technical submissions for compliance with approved designs and international codes.
- Verify electrical installations including substations, transformers, switchgear, power distribution systems, and cabling against approved drawings and As-Built records.
- Certify critical electrical works such as HV/MV switchgear commissioning and protection systems as a basis for contractor invoice certification.
- Identify technical risks and non-conformities, preparing comprehensive audit findings and monthly progress reports for the Project Director.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience in industrial, oil and gas, petrochemical, or major power infrastructure projects.
- Mandatory professional registration such as COREN, PE, CEng, or an equivalent recognized international body.
- Extensive expertise in HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, IEC and IEEE standards, and third-party technical audit procedures.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams within multicultural or emerging-market environments.
