About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier healthcare institution dedicated to medical excellence, research, and compassionate patient care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and physically fit Laundry Attendant to join our housekeeping and support services team, ensuring that all hospital linens, patient garments, and staff uniforms are impeccably cleaned, sanitized, and managed according to strict healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, sort, wash, dry, and fold hospital linens, patient wear, and staff uniforms daily.
- Operate commercial laundry washing and drying equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect all laundered items for damage or stains and report any defects to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry work area in compliance with hospital health and safety protocols.
- Ensure proper usage, measurement, and storage of laundry detergents, disinfectants, and cleaning agents.
- Collaborate effectively with the broader hospital housekeeping and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Minimum of First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC).
- Must be physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks and standing for extended periods.
- Basic ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Must possess high standards of personal hygiene, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment while exhibiting excellent interpersonal skills.
