Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive surface and topographical surveys for diverse construction projects.
- Accurately take and establish horizontal levels and set out road alignments, centre lines, curves, and boundaries.
- Determine precise differential levels for culverts, drains, and other vital drainage structures.
- Establish reliable benchmarks, reference points, and survey control points on site.
- Carry out setting-out activities strictly in accordance with approved engineering drawings.
- Take accurate site measurements and maintain proper, organized survey records.
- Interpret complex construction drawings, site plans, and raw survey data.
- Prepare detailed survey reports, field notes, and necessary technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with civil engineers, site supervisors, and other construction personnel.
- Ensure all surveying equipment is properly handled, calibrated, and maintained.
- Observe and adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Minimum qualification of a Secondary School Certificate, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated practical working experience in surface surveying within the construction sector.
- Proven ability to take horizontal and differential levels with high accuracy.
- Hands-on experience in road alignment, culvert, and drainage setting-out.
- Proficiency in operating modern surveying instruments and equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, site plans, and technical specifications.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
