About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier university teaching hospital standing at the vibrant intersection of research, education, and patient care. We are currently seeking a reliable and physically fit Labourer to join our dedicated support team in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient hospital environment. In this role, you will play a vital part behind the scenes, ensuring our facilities run smoothly so our medical professionals can focus on delivering exceptional, compassionate care to every patient who walks through our doors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general physical labor, including loading, unloading, and transporting hospital supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Assist the maintenance and facilities team with routine groundskeeping, repairs, and infrastructure upkeep.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across designated storage areas, work sites, and hospital grounds.
- Safely handle and dispose of waste materials in compliance with hospital safety and environmental regulations.
- Follow all occupational health and safety guidelines to ensure a secure working environment for staff and patients.
- Perform other manual tasks and support duties as assigned by the facility supervisor or management.
- Physically fit and able-bodied with the stamina to handle demanding manual tasks.
- Proven ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, punctuality, and reliability.
- Previous experience in general labor, construction, or facilities maintenance is an added advantage.
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
