About the Role

We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Laboratory Supervisor - Chemist to join our Quality Assurance team at the Abaji Factory in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will coordinate chemistry laboratory activities, drive Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), ensure product compliance, and provide vital technical chemistry support to factory operations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate routine chemical analysis for finished products, raw materials, and packaging materials to support accurate product release.
- Manage chemical contaminant monitoring programs, hazard assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Drive Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), safety protocols, and audit readiness across the chemistry laboratory.
- Utilize problem-solving tools such as SPC, DMAIC, and root-cause analysis to support continuous improvement and zero-defect objectives.
- Partner with production, R&D, and external stakeholders to resolve chemistry issues and maintain quality standards.
- Train and mentor laboratory personnel on analytical methods, equipment calibration, and safety procedures.
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience in analytical chemistry within a regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems including ISO, FSSC 22000, and HACCP.
- Strong computer literacy, with familiarity in SAP/GLOBE quality modules being an added advantage.
