Crystal Thorpe is incorporated in the United Kingdom to develop and manage specialist hospitals and clinics in Nigeria, providing turnkey solutions from concept development to commissioning. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team in Gwagwalada. In this vital role, you will play a key part in our mission to deliver world-class healthcare services by providing accurate diagnostic insights to physicians and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex diagnostic testing on various biological specimens including blood, tissue, and bodily fluids to assist physicians in detecting diseases and medical conditions.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and accurate results.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of medical treatments through precise laboratory analysis, guiding optimal patient care pathways.
- Maintain rigorous quality control standards and adhere strictly to health, safety, and infection control protocols within the laboratory.
- Manage inventory levels of laboratory reagents and supplies, ensuring timely restocking and proper storage conditions.
- Document and record test results accurately in the laboratory information system, ensuring data integrity and strict patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams to discuss findings and support comprehensive clinical decision-making.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related biological science discipline.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on clinical laboratory experience in a reputable hospital or diagnostic center.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating modern automated laboratory analyzers and diagnostic tools.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to ethical medical practices.
