We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team of passionate educators and support staff in delivering exceptional practical science education.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, apparatus, and chemical solutions for science practical lessons and examinations.
- Assist science teachers during practical sessions to ensure a safe, orderly, and engaging learning environment for students.
- Maintain, clean, and properly store all laboratory instruments, glassware, and safety gear after use.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment, and report shortages to management.
- Enforce strict safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with educational standards.
- Dispose of chemical and biological waste safely and in accordance with environmental and institutional regulations.
- Minimum of an OND, NCE, or equivalent qualification in Science Laboratory Technology or a related discipline.
- Proven work experience as a Laboratory Assistant or similar role, preferably within a secondary school environment.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling, and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced school setting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students and teaching staff.
