About the Role
Showers Christian High School is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Attendant to join our dynamic academic support team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fostering a safe, well-organized, and practical learning environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and set up apparatus, equipment, and biological, chemical, or physical materials required for science practicals and demonstrations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all science laboratories, storage rooms, and preparation areas.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of chemical and biological waste in compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment, reporting shortages or damaged items to management.
- Assist science teachers and students during practical lessons to ensure safety protocols are strictly observed.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on laboratory equipment to keep them in optimal working condition.
- Minimum of an OND, SSCE, or equivalent relevant qualification in sciences or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a school laboratory or similar scientific environment is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures and hazardous material handling.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy school setting.
- Good communication skills and a patient, helpful attitude toward students and faculty members.
