About the Role
ECLAT HR Consulting is seeking a reliable and energetic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team in Abuja, Nigeria. In this role, you will work closely with our professional culinary staff to ensure the smooth, efficient, and hygienic operation of the kitchen while supporting daily meal preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Chef with food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
- Support meal plating, portioning, and timely service to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization across kitchen surfaces, workstations, and dining areas.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all cooking utensils, pots, pans, and tableware.
- Adhere strictly to food safety standards, hygiene practices, and proper ingredient storage guidelines to prevent contamination and minimize waste.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies, notifying the Chef promptly of low stock or expiring items.
- Report any faulty appliances, damaged equipment, or safety hazards immediately.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience working as a Kitchen Assistant, prep cook, or in a similar support role.
- Prior culinary support experience in a restaurant, hotel, corporate office, or private kitchen is a distinct advantage.
- Strong familiarity with kitchen hygiene, food safety standards, and proper waste disposal.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately, work under pressure, and maintain a cooperative team spirit.
