About the Role

CCETC Ogua Energy Limited (COEL) is a premier Operations and Maintenance (O and M) company affiliated with CCETC China, specializing in clean energy, power generation, and gas manufacturing. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining robust financial records, ensuring strict IFRS compliance, and supporting our strategic growth in the power industry. Please note that candidates must be willing to relocate to any of our project sites as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Oversee accounting procedures to ensure compliance with IFRS for monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory reports.
  • Handle timely bank payments, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations.
  • Take responsibility for budgetary controls, variance analysis, and preparation of forecasts by strategic business units.
  • Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, handle PAYE filings, and process tax clearance certificates.
  • Liaise with tax consultants, as well as internal and external auditors, during periodic management audits.
  • Develop and maintain secure financial databases to reinforce confidentiality and reporting efficiency.
  • Advise management on the company's financial health and support project accounting and inter-company transactions.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Accounting with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division.
  • An MBA in Financial Management or Accounting will be considered an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of post-NYSC work experience, with at least 2 years in a similar accounting role.
  • Prior working experience in the power or energy industry is highly advantageous.
  • Must be fully IFRS compliant with extensive experience in PAYE, tax computation, auditing, and filing.
  • Age between 30 and 40 years old.
  • Willingness to relocate to any of our project sites as required.
