About the Role
MyJobMag Limited is partnering with a leading financial institution driving digital innovation in Nigeria to recruit a skilled Java Developer. In this pivotal role, you will join a dynamic engineering team dedicated to building secure, seamless, and high-performance backend applications and microservices for a growing digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using Java and the Spring Boot framework to support backend services.
- Design, build, and maintain secure RESTful APIs to integrate internal banking applications with external fintech partners and payment gateways.
- Optimize SQL queries and manage financial data accurately using relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Develop robust unit tests using JUnit and collaborate with QA teams to quickly troubleshoot and resolve system bugs.
- Participate actively in daily standups, sprint planning sessions, and peer code reviews within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3 to 5 years of professional backend software development experience specializing in Java.
- Strong technical proficiency in SQL, ORM frameworks like Hibernate, AWS cloud services, and Git version control.
- Prior working experience in a bank, fintech, or digital lending platform is a distinct advantage.
