About the Role
UUL United Logistics NIG LTD is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Support Officer to serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related needs within the organization. This role combines hands-on technical support with process automation, offering the right candidate an opportunity to streamline operations while building valuable cross-functional experience in IT and HR systems.
Positioned within the Human Resources department and reporting directly to the HR Director, the IT Support Officer will manage employee ID badge production, mailbox provisioning, network and CCTV operations, and day-to-day hardware and software troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will also leverage Python scripting to automate repetitive administrative tasks, while maintaining strong information-security practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Produce and manage employee ID badges, mailbox applications, and account permissions.
- Maintain accurate account, permission, and IT asset registers.
- Operate and maintain LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and printers.
- Monitor and maintain CCTV systems, ensuring full coverage and storage integrity.
- Liaise with ISPs and vendors to resolve faults and coordinate repairs.
- Provide first-line support for hardware, operating systems, and office software.
- Install, configure, and update systems, applications, and printing solutions.
- Create simple how-to guides for recurring technical issues.
- Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive IT/HR tasks such as badge generation and asset reporting.
- Document automation scripts and lodge them with the HR Director.
- Ensure endpoint protection, patch management, and monitor unauthorized software or devices.
- Perform scheduled backups and verify successful restorations.
- Report and log security incidents promptly, escalating where necessary.
- Deliver periodic staff security-awareness briefings.
- Escalate complex technical issues to Group IT and policy or purchase decisions to the HR Director.
- B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in an IT Support role within an office environment strongly preferred.
- Exposure to CCTV or network equipment maintenance is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Windows OS installation and configuration.
- Familiarity with office productivity software and email client setup (e.g., Foxmail or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Working knowledge of Python scripting for task automation.
- Basic understanding of information security principles.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Windows/365, or Python/InfoSec foundation certificates are an added advantage.
