About the Role
Victoria Waterfront Hotel & Resorts is an oasis of comfort and sophistication located along the picturesque coast of Lagos, dedicated to providing exceptional hospitality experiences. We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive IP Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing our core, aggregation, and edge service provider IP networks. You will manage large-scale routing protocols, MPLS architectures, and secure connections to ensure maximum network uptime, scalability, and robust security for our guests and internal enterprise operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design, configure, and maintain high-speed ISP core networks running BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS including L2VPN, L3VPN, and EVPN architectures.
- Manage Internet Exchange Point peering sessions, upstream IP transit providers, traffic engineering, and BGP community policies.
- Provision, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade routing and switching hardware from top vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and MikroTik.
- Serve as Tier 3/4 escalation support for complex IP network incidents, routing issues, DDoS attacks, and packet loss problems.
- Implement robust network security practices, including RPKI, uRPF, firewall filters, access control lists, and automated DDoS mitigation strategies.
- Manage IPv4 and IPv6 allocations, subnetting, and coordination with Regional Internet Registries such as AFRINIC.
- Monitor network performance and traffic trends to proactively recommend capacity upgrades and topology enhancements.
- Automate routine network configurations, audits, and deployments using Python, Ansible, or NETCONF protocols.
- Possess a minimum of an HND or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience managing enterprise or ISP-grade IP networks.
- Solid understanding of routing protocols, MPLS, network security principles, and IPAM operations.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
