About the Role
New Hall International School, a prestigious co-educational day and boarding school located in Chevy View Estate, Lekki, Lagos, is seeking a skilled and passionate ICT Teacher. We are looking for a technologist who goes beyond basic software use, bringing real-world IT industry experience into our classrooms. Key Responsibilities- Teach comprehensive computer science, including digital literacy, Python and JavaScript programming, databases, algorithms, and computational thinking to IGCSE and A-Level students.
- Debug student code effectively and foster practical problem-solving skills in the classroom.
- Utilize educational platforms such as Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and various Learning Management Systems.
- Supervise coding clubs, prepare students for competitive programming events, and apply cybersecurity awareness.
- Assist in maintaining school technical infrastructure, leveraging your background in systems administration, IT support, or software development.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven teaching experience in a similar role within a recognized school.
- Valid teaching certification, license, or PGDE.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or relevant programming credentials are a strong advantage.
- Practical networking and software development background, including LAN setups, troubleshooting, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Excellent command of the English language with exceptional classroom management and communication skills.
