About the Role
Heirs Insurance is a leading general insurance company challenging traditional insurance by providing simple and accessible protection for vehicles, homes, businesses, and more. We are currently looking for a talented and driven Investment Manager to join our Finance department in Lagos, Nigeria. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, you will be responsible for assessing, monitoring, planning, and reporting on our day-to-day investment portfolio activities in compliance with NAICOM prudential guidelines and statutory provisions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage in-house investment portfolios including short-term placements, FG Bonds, Eurobonds, and quoted and unquoted equities.
- Monitor trade investment portfolios daily, tracking money market rates, capital market equity prices, bond yields, and foreign exchange rates.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term investment strategies aligned with company goals and risk tolerance.
- Assess risk and return trade-offs within NAICOM guidelines in relation to company investment policies.
- Evaluate portfolio performance against market benchmarks and recommend strategic diversification opportunities.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly investment reports, cash flow forecasts, and advanced financial models.
- Maintain accurate records of investment assets, income, and ensure adherence to IFRS and relevant financial regulations.
- Manage key relationships with investee companies, commercial banks, and financial service providers.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline; a Master's degree (MBA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant investment experience, preferably within the insurance or broader financial services sector.
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, ICAN, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of Nigerian financial markets, NAICOM prudential guidelines, and SEC reporting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and strategic analytical tools.
