About the Role
Jumia is Nigeria’s leading e-commerce platform, offering a trusted online shopping solution for electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more. We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Inventory Manager to lead inventory operations at our bustling fulfillment center in Nigeria, ensuring stock accuracy, optimal availability, and cost-efficiency. In this critical role, you will lead a dedicated team of inventory associates, strengthen robust inventory controls, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to keep customer orders moving seamlessly on time.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of inventory management within the fulfillment center, including receiving, storing, counting, and tracking stock levels to ensure maximum availability.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures, policies, and best practices to minimize shrinkage and reduce carrying costs.
- Monitor stock levels to support operational needs, collaborating with Purchasing, Sales, and Operations for effective replenishment strategies.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize advanced inventory management systems (IMS) and technology tools to track movements and generate key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to manage inbound shipments and resolve receiving discrepancies.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of inventory associates to ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage configurations, and picking processes to maximize space utilization and minimize handling costs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certification is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain management within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (IMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a results-oriented mindset.
