About the Role
Rensource is revolutionizing energy provision in Nigeria by offering a subscription-based energy service that provides you the power you need to live your best life. We are seeking a dedicated Internal Auditor to provide independent assurance to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board through the Finance, Audit, Investment & Risk Committee. This crucial role will strengthen governance, internal controls, risk management, compliance, and carbon-accounting integrity across our growing renewable-energy and e-mobility portfolio in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a Board-approved annual audit plan covering financial, operational, carbon, compliance, and IT domains.
- Conduct risk-based audits across commercial and industrial solar, battery energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
- Evaluate internal controls implemented by the financial leadership and assess the effectiveness of procurement, inventory, and treasury controls.
- Audit carbon-savings calculations to ensure strict compliance with GHG Protocol and ISSB standards.
- Review compliance with statutory, regulatory, environmental, and tax requirements while conducting proactive fraud risk assessments.
- Present audit findings, risk insights, and governance recommendations directly to executive leadership and the Board.
- Professional certification such as CIA, ACCA, CPA, ICAN or an equivalent recognized body.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management, or corporate assurance.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, internal control frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Demonstrated experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, or project-based industries.
- Familiarity with carbon accounting, greenhouse gas reporting, or sustainability assurance frameworks.
- High integrity, independence, analytical rigor, and exceptional executive-level communication skills.
