About the Role
Captain Cook is a leading family-owned and customer-focused food business founded in 2005, proudly operating at over 15 locations nationwide. We are dedicated to producing delicious continental and African meals that remind our customers of home, offering an incredible range of choices at every visit. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditor to join our growing team in Nigeria and safeguard our financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, sales revenue, and operational expenses.
- Conducting internal audits of cash handling, inventory management, procurement, and compliance with state and federal tax regulations.
- Performing daily and monthly bank, POS system sales, and ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Maintaining organized financial records and comprehensive audit working papers.
- Ensuring routine financial reports, such as trial balances, revenue summaries, and expense breakdowns, are generated accurately.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all business locations.
- Extracting, validating, and uploading daily and weekly sales and purchase records into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Participating in monthly physical counts of raw materials and finished goods, cross-referencing them against system stock levels.
- Implementing checks and procedures to ensure data integrity, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Submitting detailed monthly internal audit reports complete with actionable findings and recommendations.
- HND or BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Possession of an MSc, MBA, or ICAN certification will be an added advantage.
- 4 to 7 years of proven experience in internal audit, internal control, or external audit, preferably within the hospitality or food service sector.
