About the Role
Broadoaks British School is a leading international educational institution located in the prestigious Maitama district of Abuja, Nigeria. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditor to join our dynamic team and uphold our high standards of operational excellence and transparency.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control systems to safeguard school assets and prevent fraud.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments across academic and administrative functions and maintain the risk register.
- Carry out routine and surprise internal audits covering finance, procurement, payroll, admissions, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, labour laws, and safeguarding standards relevant to educational institutions.
- Prepare timely and comprehensive reports on internal control effectiveness for the Director of School and leadership.
- Investigate reported cases of fraud, mismanagement, or policy breaches with strict confidentiality and fairness.
- Partner with Finance, HR, and Admin teams to embed strong internal control practices across the school.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in internal auditing or risk management such as CIA, CRMA, or CIMA.
- Proven working experience in internal controls, risk management, or auditing, preferably within an educational setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations and statutory laws applicable in Nigeria.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
