About the Role
Bradfield Consulting is currently recruiting a detail-oriented Internal Auditor on behalf of our client, a leading educational institution in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting rigorous financial and operational audits across various departments, safeguarding institutional resources, and ensuring compliance with established policies to promote transparency and strong corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct financial and operational audits of the Accounts Department, Unit Stores, Bus Run, Tuckshop, and Procurement units.
- Review internal controls to guarantee that institutional resources, funds, inventory, and assets are adequately safeguarded.
- Verify financial transactions, records, income, expenditures, and reconciliations against supporting documentation.
- Perform physical verification and reconciliation of cash, inventory, and physical assets.
- Monitor strict compliance with approved policies, statutory requirements, budgets, and management directives.
- Review revenue-generating streams to identify potential leakages and ensure proper financial accountability.
- Conduct scheduled, surprise, and spot-check audits to uncover irregularities and control weaknesses.
- Analyze system-generated reports to detect anomalies, variances, and duplicate transactions.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based audit reports highlighting actionable recommendations for management.
- Support management by providing advisory services on internal controls, risk management, and process improvements.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-NYSC professional experience in Internal Audit, Accounting, or Risk and Compliance.
- Age requirement: Not more than 35 years old.
- Active membership or professional certification in ICAN, ACCA, or ACA is an added advantage.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting or audit software.
