About the Role
Zayith Food Company is a prominent Lagos-based dairy manufacturing startup specializing in clean-label, high-quality, and nutritious cultured dairy products. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to strengthen internal controls, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance across our business operations. In this vital role, you will evaluate internal controls, review operational and financial processes, identify business risks, and recommend improvements that drive governance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled audits across finance, production, inventory, procurement, logistics, and sales functions.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Audit inventory movement, raw material utilization, production records, wastage, and finished goods reconciliation.
- Review financial records, expense claims, petty cash, procurement activities, and payroll processes for accuracy.
- Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and compliance gaps, recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting findings, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor the implementation of agreed audit recommendations and support external regulatory inspections.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of internal audit experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, or production environment.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, audit methodologies, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Demonstrated experience auditing inventory management, production processes, and operational controls.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, documentation, and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity, objectivity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant accounting or ERP software.
