About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution and pioneer in entrepreneurial education, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructor II to join the Department of Fashion Design and Clothing Technology within the School of Arts, Design and Printing. As an integral member of our academic staff, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of creative professionals by imparting practical and theoretical knowledge in fashion design, garment construction, and textile technology.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures and practical studio sessions in Fashion Design and Clothing Technology to National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, lesson plans, and instructional resources aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assess and evaluate student coursework, practical projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Supervise student projects, industrial training, and practical workshops to ensure high standards of craftsmanship and technical proficiency.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and institutional events to contribute to the overall growth of the college.
- Engage in continuous professional development, research, and creative industry collaborations to stay abreast of current trends in fashion and technology.
- Possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Fashion Design, Clothing Technology, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- Must possess a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter.
- Demonstrated proficiency in garment construction, pattern drafting, textile science, and modern fashion illustration techniques.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a genuine passion for teaching and student mentorship.
