About the Role
The National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN) is an Inter-University Centre for Nigerian Language Studies and an autonomous institution operating under the regulation of the National Universities Commission (NUC). We are currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and experienced Information and Public Relations Officer to join our esteemed institution in shaping our public image, managing institutional communications, and fostering strong stakeholder relations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive public relations and communication strategies to enhance NINLAN's visibility and reputation.
- Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, organizing press conferences, and handling media inquiries.
- Produce engaging content for official publications, newsletters, website, and social media channels.
- Coordinate institutional events, public lectures, and academic ceremonies in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with government bodies, educational institutions, the media, and the general public.
- Monitor public opinion and media coverage regarding the institute, providing strategic advice to management.
- Possess a relevant Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or a related field.
- Demonstrate professional certification in Public Relations (e.g., NIPR) or related bodies as an added advantage.
- Proven professional experience in public relations, corporate communications, or journalism, preferably within the tertiary education sector.
- Demonstrate exceptional competence, unwavering integrity, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
