About the Role
IOTA Group is a trusted global human resources and technical assistance partner operating across the energy, industry, and infrastructure sectors. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Indirect Taxation Analyst to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding the company's financial interests by ensuring full compliance with federal and state tax laws, managing regulatory audits, and providing strategic tax advisory for ongoing and future business contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic tax advisory on contracts, transactions, and corporate projects in collaboration with Legal, C&P, Finance, and Accounting departments.
- Design and continuously update the Indirect Tax matrix to mitigate financial exposure and reputational risk.
- Coordinate periodic external audits involving key government bodies such as NEITI, NRS, SIRS, and NDDC.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities including NUPRC, NDDC, and NRS regarding fiscal agent duties, documentation, and statutory remittances.
- Supervise the preparation and timely filing of monthly and annual VAT and WHT returns while resolving any related tax audit queries.
- Direct accounting and treasury operations on vendor master data updates, optimal fund utilization, and timely indirect tax payments.
- Manage the application and acquisition process for Tax Clearance Certificates (TCC) for all company entities.
- Handle vendor relationships concerning Withholding Tax (WHT) credit notes and maintain comprehensive digital archives of government revenue receipts.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of post-graduation professional experience specializing in tax and accounting functions within Nigeria.
- Mandatory professional accounting certification, such as ICAN or ACCA.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian federal and state tax laws, tax treaties, and multilateral tax agreements.
- Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and cross-functional communication skills.
- C2 level proficiency in English with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and government agencies effectively.
