About the Role
Busybees & West Mills British School, a premier private institution located in the vibrant Apapa area of Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a passionate and dedicated IGCSE Chemistry Teacher. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering an exceptional British curriculum education, fostering critical thinking, and inspiring a genuine enthusiasm for the sciences among our secondary school students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective IGCSE Chemistry lessons in accordance with the British curriculum standards.
- Develop comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional materials tailored to diverse learning styles.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate academic records.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and inquiry-based learning.
- Prepare students thoroughly for internal and external examinations, ensuring high academic achievement.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, school events, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.Sc, or equivalent degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven teaching experience delivering the IGCSE Chemistry curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of British educational standards and modern pedagogical approaches.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Passionate about teaching with a proven track record of motivating students to excel academically.
