About the Role
Shalina Healthcare, a market leader in making quality healthcare products affordable and available across Africa, is seeking an experienced and dedicated HVAC / AC Technician to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor HVAC and associated environmental control systems within our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, product quality, personnel safety, and strict compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor HVAC systems, air handling units (AHUs), ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and associated equipment.
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all HVAC equipment to minimize downtime.
- Inspect HVAC systems regularly to identify abnormalities, leaks, unusual noises, vibrations, and temperature variations.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control-system faults efficiently.
- Maintain precise temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, airflow, and air-change rates in production and controlled areas.
- Ensure the proper functioning of HEPA filters, pre-filters, dampers, diffusers, fans, coils, and ducts.
- Support HVAC qualification, validation, commissioning, and requalification activities in compliance with GMP.
- OND, HND, or B.Sc./B.Eng Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably within a pharmaceutical, healthcare, food, chemical, or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Practical expertise with AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and cleanroom HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements and controlled environments.
