We are currently looking for a proactive and experienced HSSE Officer to join our team in Kaduna. In this vital role, you will lead our health, safety, security, and environment functions, ensuring the utmost protection of staff, visitors, and the surrounding environment through robust risk management, effective systems, and strict regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the comprehensive HSSE management system across operations in Kaduna.
- Conduct and oversee routine risk assessments, workplace inspections, and internal safety audits.
- Develop, update, and implement practical HSSE policies, standard operating procedures, and staff training programs.
- Lead proactive incident prevention initiatives, thorough incident investigations, and accurate reporting.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness protocols, physical security measures, and environmental management practices.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable Nigerian HSSE regulations, industry standards, and company guidelines.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop HSSE support staff to foster a strong safety culture.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Environmental/Health Sciences, Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Mandatory completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or presentation of a valid exemption certificate.
- Substantial professional experience in HSSE, ideally including supervisory or senior-level responsibilities.
- Proven background in conducting risk assessments, managing incident responses, and maintaining HSSE systems.
- Relevant industry background within healthcare, industrial, or institutional HSSE environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, and staff supervision skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to influence safety behaviors across all organizational levels.
