About the Role
First Metro Infrastructure Limited (FMIL), the preferred concessionaire of the Red Line Project in Lagos State, is dedicated to developing world-class railway infrastructure solutions. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced HSE Supervisor to oversee the implementation of comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across our dynamic operations. In this pivotal role, you will provide critical HSE leadership, ensure strict regulatory compliance, manage workplace risks, and actively promote an uncompromising safety culture within Nigeria's evolving transportation sector.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the effective implementation of company-wide HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, routine site inspections, and comprehensive HSE audits.
- Monitor and ensure continuous compliance with applicable Nigerian and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Lead thorough accident, incident, and near-miss investigations to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Coordinate engaging HSE training sessions, safety inductions, daily toolbox talks, and awareness programs.
- Monitor contractor and site-specific HSE performance to maintain a hazard-free working environment.
- Develop, update, and maintain robust emergency response procedures for railway operations.
- Prepare detailed HSE reports and monitor key performance indicators to track safety progress.
- Drive timely corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives across all operational units.
- Liaise professionally with external clients, regulatory bodies, and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in HSE, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant HSE experience, featuring demonstrable leadership or supervisory responsibilities within heavy industry or construction.
- Possession of recognized certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE credentials.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation methodologies, safety audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and data analysis.
