About the Role
Alpha Mead Group, a leading Total Real Estate Solutions Company operating in over 10 African Countries and certified to ISO 9001:2015 standards, is looking for a dynamic HSE & QMS Officer to join our team in Abuja. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-quality operational environment across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and monitor comprehensive HSE and QMS policies, procedures, and programmes.
- Conduct routine HSE and quality inspections, identifying hazards and assessing operational risks.
- Maintain risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work.
- Monitor compliance with Permit-to-Work requirements and investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, emergency preparedness drills, and HSE awareness sessions.
- Ensure contractor compliance with statutory HSE requirements and internal safety standards.
- Coordinate QMS documentation, conduct internal quality audits, and track corrective/preventive actions.
- Support environmental management initiatives, including waste management and resource efficiency.
- Prepare periodic HSE and quality performance reports for management review.
- Investigate customer complaints related to safety or service quality and coordinate effective resolutions.
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or HSE Level 3.
- ISO 9001/QMS certification or working knowledge is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in HSE, QMS, facilities management, construction, or manufacturing.
- In-depth understanding of Nigerian HSE regulations and relevant international standards.
- Strong analytical, auditing, risk assessment, and technical reporting skills.
