About the Role
Sunbeth Global Concepts (SGC) is a reputable trading firm specializing in the export of premium quality raw cocoa beans and cashew from Nigeria. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Internal Control Manager to lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Sunbeth Shipping Limited's internal control framework across all transportation and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities- Review end-to-end transport operations, monitor fleet utilization, verify fuel usage, and track vehicle maintenance costs and route adherence.
- Ensure freight forwarding and customs clearing activities comply with approved procedures, minimizing demurrage and storage costs.
- Monitor air freight operations, airline billing reconciliations, and service-level compliance.
- Drive revenue assurance by reviewing pricing approvals, investigating unbilled jobs, and monitoring customer receivables and credit notes.
- Conduct operational risk assessments, maintain risk registers, and support business continuity planning.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian Customs Service, FAAN, NCAA, NPA, and Nigerian Shippers Council regulations.
- Lead investigations into fuel and cargo theft, vendor fraud, and procurement manipulation through surprise operational audits.
- Monitor company vehicles, conduct asset verification exercises, and review warehouse inventory controls.
- MSc or MBA in a related field, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CISA is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP, SAGE, Tally, or Business Central) and Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Extensive experience in internal control, risk management, or audit within the logistics, shipping, or supply chain sector in Nigeria.
