About the Role
DESAC Energy Nigeria Limited is a leading indigenous oil and gas, engineering, and industrial construction company based in Warri, Delta State. We are currently seeking dedicated and proactive HSE Officers to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining a safe working environment across our marine logistics, fabrication, and oilfield operations, ensuring that all activities comply with statutory health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures, and programs across all project sites.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, hazard identifications, and risk assessments to mitigate potential workplace incidents.
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks, safety inductions, and specialized HSE training sessions for all operational personnel and contractors.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents, preparing detailed root-cause analysis reports and corrective action plans.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian health and safety laws, industry best practices, and client-specific HSE standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incident logs, equipment inspections, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Manage emergency preparedness plans and coordinate safety drills regularly to ensure workforce readiness.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant HSE experience within the oil and gas, marine, or industrial construction sector.
- Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH (IGC), OSHA, or local equivalents (ISPON).
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Nigerian environmental and safety regulations.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to enforce safety protocols firmly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and incident reporting software.
