About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is looking for a qualified HSE Officer I to join our Dangote Sugar Refinery (DSR) operations in Numan, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will champion workplace safety by implementing health, environmental, and safety policies, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, and fostering a proactive safety culture across our large-scale manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and routine risk assessments for all operational activities to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly HSE performance reports while maintaining accurate health and safety documentation.
- Develop, implement, and test emergency response plans through coordinated fire drills and evacuation exercises.
- Monitor waste disposal processes and ensure strict adherence to environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks, safety induction sessions, and specialized refresher training for plant personnel.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts thoroughly, delivering detailed root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Must possess relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, ISPON, OSHA, ISO 45001 & 14001 Lead Auditor, or IOSH Managing Safely.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of cognate HSE experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation, safety auditing, and regulatory compliance within Nigeria.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and people management skills with uncompromising personal integrity.
