About the Role

International Facilities Services Limited (IFS) is a leading global facilities management company delivering cost-effective, end-to-end hard and soft services. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Officer to champion health, safety, and environmental standards across our fast-paced operations in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will ensure a safe working environment for all staff, contractors, and visitors while maintaining strict adherence to local and international compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver comprehensive HSE induction training for all new staff and subcontractors prior to site deployment.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all hard and soft FM activities.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits, tracking and closing out corrective actions promptly.
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and near-miss reporting to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities such as electrical isolation, hot works, and working at height.
  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian HSE regulations and statutory environmental requirements like NESREA.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through engaging toolbox talks and emergency evacuation drills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Mandatory NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognized international qualification; NEBOSH Diploma or IOSH/ISPON credentials are an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven HSE experience within facilities management, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of RAMS, permit-to-work systems, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or CAFM platforms.
  • Exceptional communication, training delivery, and crisis-management skills.
